The Philippine’s only microATM service provider EasyDebit – successfully completed its migration to EMV-based transactions on Thursday June 28, 2018, in advance of the Bangko Sentral Ng Pilipinas June 30th Deadline.
This feat comes amidst industry-wide challenges on the migration from the less secured magstripe (magnetic stripe) technology to the global industry standard of EMV chip technology. The shift to EMV will result in the safer and securer processing of debit cards in the Philippines.
With over 450 locations operating across the Philippines, EasyDebit has provided ATM withdrawal service to Filipinos in the remotest parts of the country. EasyDebit’s successful migration to EMV solidifies the company’s position being at the forefront of innovation and compliance in the fintech ecosystem.
With the Philippine banking industry’s migration to EMV, EasyDebit led the Fintech provider pack as one of first systems to provide full EMV transaction success on all its terminals. EasyDebit is now providing EMV compliant transactions on all terminals countrywide and provides safe and secure banking needs to Filipinos across the country.
